Suzhou to see break from rain, with rise in temperatures coming

Awakening of Insects, the third term of the 24 solar terms, arrives today, signaling temperature rises in most regions of the country.

Suzhou will be mostly cloudy today, with occasional light showers. The highest temperature today is expected to reach 13 degrees Celsius.

The good news is that the latest round of rainfall will finally come to an end tomorrow. Cloudy conditions will dominate the city in the next two days. Temperatures will range from 6 to 12 degrees tomorrow and 4 to 11 degrees on Saturday. Residents are still advised to dress warmly to avoid catching a cold.

During Awakening of Insects, nourishing yang energy and protecting the liver are priorities. Traditional Chinese medicine doctors recommend massaging two acupoints:

1. Dadun acupoint: Massaging it helps regulate liver qi and blood. It is located on the lateral side of the end of the big toe;

2. Taichong acupoint: Massaging it helps nourish the liver, reduce internal heat and clear the eyes. It is located on the top of the foot, in the depression between the first and second metatarsal bones.
