Construction officially began on the Phase II of Taicang Alps Resort yesterday, which is scheduled to open in June 2029.
With a total investment of 5 billion yuan and an area of about 300,000 square meters, the new snow world will set five world records for indoor ski resorts, aiming to become the world's largest, highest-quality, and most well-equipped ice and snow-themed resort.
- 1st in length of a single indoor ski run: The longest slope will reach 650 meters, surpassing the 640-meter slope at alpincenter Bottrop in Germany.
- 1st in vertical drop of a single indoor ski run: The maximum vertical drop will be 100 meters, exceeding the 90-meter drop at SnowWorld Amnéville in France.

- 1st in total slope length: Once completed, the length of the slopes at Alps Snow Live will total 1,777 meters, ranking first in the world.
- 1st in area of cold zones: The total area of cold zones at Alps Snow Live will top 100,000 square meters, ranking first in the world.
- 1st AI ski resort: AI will be introduced for dynamic monitoring and control at the snow world, optimizing temperature, humidity, and snow quality for a better experience and improved energy efficiency.

Phase II will feature a Snow Summit Hall and a Cloud Top Lounge. The former will offer dining services, while the latter, positioned as the resort's prime viewing point, will provide visitors with panoramic views of Taicang through massive floor-to-ceiling windows.
Two luxury hotels will be built. Club Med Urban Oasis Aurora Hotel will include a SKI IN & SKI OUT changing area directly connected to the cold zone and an exclusive lounge where guests can enjoy views of the aurora and snow in a cozy setting. Club Med Urban Oasis Glacier Hotel, inspired by polar expeditions, will use holographic projection to create an immersive glacier world.
Six entertainment attractions are also planned, including a polar ocean park, a snow expedition park, a hot spring park, a mini amusement park, SKY PARK, and an immersive dinner show. The polar ocean park will feature animals living in polar regions such as penguins, polar bears, sea lions, and seals, all enhanced with VR and AR technology for an immersive experience. The hot spring park is themed around ice caves and offers SPA pools and recovery therapy for post-sports relaxation.
Since the opening in October 2023, the Phase I of the resort has received over 1 million visitors. Alps Snow Live alone has recorded a peak of 4,500 visitors in a single day. Taicang has established itself as both the "Hometown of German Enterprises" and an emerging "City of Ice and Snow."
