Hangzhou Qiantang Smart City

Hangzhou Qiantang Smart City was established in November 2015 with a planned area of 16.03 square kilometers. In December 2021, it merged with the former Electronic and Mechanical Functional area of Shangcheng District. As one of the 16 reserved development zones (parks) in Hangzhou, Qiantang Smart City is actively creating the Provincial High-tech industrial park of information intelligence in Shangcheng District, with a jurisdictional area of 11.02 square kilometers, which including the core area of Qiantang Smart City, Chengbei enclave, together with part of Genbei New City and Qianjiang New City Phase II.

As the main industrial platform in Shangcheng District, Qiantang Smart City is effectively promoting the development of three leading industries of Digital Energy, Digital Fashion and Intelligent Internet of Things, building the Hangzhou Smart City Digital Energy Port, making it a gathering place for digital energy intelligent manufacturing in the Yangtze River Delta and a leading area for the digital energy industry in Zhejiang Province. There are several key platforms in Qiantang Smart City, such as Green Valley, Zhejiang Tsinghua Yangtze River Delta Research Institute Hangzhou Branch, International Medical Innovation Center, Zhejiang National University Science and Technology Park, Zhejiang Yangtze River Delta Military and Civilian Integration Industrial Park, Dongcheng Military Cooperation Industrial Park, Oriental E-commerce Park, Xinhe Lianchuang Digital Fashion Industrial Park and Donggu Entrepreneurship Park. Qiantang Smart City has cultivated 12 listed companies both domestically and internationally, as well as 7 unicorn and quasi-unicorn enterprises. There are 12 national Specialized and New enterprises, 274 national high-tech enterprises, 27 provincial Specialized and New enterprises, 535 Technological Small and Medium-sized enterprises, 43 provincial Research and Development centers, 21 provincial and municipal enterprise research institutes together with academician workstations. Besides, Qiantang Smart City has also cultivated and brought in a total of 91 leading talents at or above the municipal level.
