The plum rain season is expected to end on July 3 or 4 in Hangzhou. Why not visit the West Lake to enjoy the blooming lotuses and water lilies in the upcoming sunny days?
The Lotuses and Water Lilies Exhibition from Five Cities kicked off at Qianwang Temple on June 24. The exhibition features four main display areas where you can find lotuses and water lilies not only at Qianwang Temple but also at Three Pools Mirroring the Moon Island, Yongjin Square, and along the lakeside of the West Lake.
Among these, the "Appreciating Lotuses and Water Lilies" exhibition at Qianwang Temple is the highlight of the show. Exquisite displays such as "Dreaming of Qiantang," "Lotus within Lotus," "Charm of the Lotus" are set up from the Wupai Archway to Qianwang Temple, telling the various stories of lotuses and water lilies.
Additionally, a micro-ecological landscape of the West Lake is on display the Yueli Hall, offering visitors a glimpse into the underwater world of the lake. Artist Chen Lan's themed painting exhibition "Free Lotus" also adds a rich artistic atmosphere to the flower show with its unique charm.
The flower show also introduces about 50 excellent lotus varieties from Lotus Hill Park in Guangzhou, the special giant water lily species from Xishuangbanna Botanical Garden, and the exhibition pieces from the Mochou Lake Park in Nanjing and the Humble Administrator's Garden in Suzhou.
