To thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions and initiatives on strengthening youth exchanges between China and Vietnam, the "Stay True to the Original Aspiration" Study Camp, part of the "Red Research Tour" for Vietnamese Youth in China, was officially launched in Guangzhou from April 11 to 13, 2026. Hosted by the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) Central Committee and co-organized by the Central Party School of CYLC , the CYLC Guangdong Provincial Committee , and other institutions, the camp brought together 200 youth representatives from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Vietnam in the City of Rams (Guangzhou). They traveled between revolutionary heritage sites and modern landmarks, gaining a deep understanding of their original aspiration and mission by tracing revolutionary history, and envisioning the future by perceiving the development of the times, jointly composing a new chapter of friendly exchanges between Chinese and Vietnamese youth.

Shared Revolutionary Roots
Forging Comradeship Through Red Legacy
As an important part of this study tour, the visit aims to strengthen the close bond between the youth of the two countries by exploring their shared revolutionary history and achievements in modern development. The delegation’s itinerary began with a profound experience of the shared history connecting the two nations. On the morning of that day, the young participants visited historical sites including the former site of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League and the Martyr Pham Hong Thai Tomb, retracing the footsteps of revolutionary pioneers. These visits allowed everyone to truly appreciate the profound "comrades and brothers" friendship forged by the older generations of the two countries.

This sense of historical continuity was further deepened at a deeply moving book-sharing session held at the Memorial Hall of the First National Congress of the Socialist Youth League of China .

Bridging Through Dialogue, Forging Sincere Friendship

What touches the heart most is the natural and sincere interaction and mutual understanding between the youth of China and Vietnam. Culture serves as the gentlest yet strongest bridge across linguistic barriers.
At the Cantonese Opera Art Museum in Yongqingfang, under the guidance of professional instructors, children from the Vietnamese Young Pioneers group gently waved their water sleeves, stepped and turned gracefully, and carefully imitated every expression and movement of Cantonese Opera performers. Amid the powerful beats of lion dance drums and gongs, and the vigorous gestures of martial arts, bright smiles lit up the children’s faces. Chinese youngsters also presented their exquisitely handcrafted Guangzhou embroidery works to their Vietnamese friends, forging a pure friendship through these delicate handmade gifts.
That evening, the event “Chinese and Vietnamese Youth Paint Together” held at the Guangzhou No.3 Children’s Palace brought the warm atmosphere to a climax. Thirty-eight Chinese and Vietnamese teenagers were divided into six groups. Using paintbrushes as a medium, they jointly depicted the friendship and shared revolutionary memories between China and Vietnam. From learning to call out group numbers in each other’s language, to carefully drawing the Great Wall and national flags, and then solemnly signing their names on the artwork, the short two-hour creation quietly melted away language barriers through colors and mutual understanding. “I had such a great time painting together. Although we don’t speak the same language, we could communicate with brushes and eye contact!” one Vietnamese participant said, holding the painting. This warm and pure encounter has also become the most precious gift of her trip.

The three-day Guangzhou study tour was packed with rich activities and yielded fruitful results. As a vivid implementation of the important consensus reached by the leaders of China and Vietnam and President Xi Jinping’s cordial initiative, the Guangzhou leg of this "Red Study Tour" also constitutes a splendid chapter of the "Global Youth Insight into Guangzhou" brand. Through immersive visits and experiences, 200 Vietnamese teenagers not only deeply comprehended the essence and achievements of Chinese modernization, but also directly felt the robust momentum China’s development has brought to the region, witnessed the fruitful outcomes of in-depth China-Vietnam cooperation in industries, technology, culture and other fields, and gained a multi-dimensional understanding of China and Guangzhou.
"This trip has allowed me to truly grasp the profound meaning of 'comrades and brothers'," a Vietnamese youth leader remarked emotionally in his study reflection. "The revolutionary memories remind us to stay true to our original revolutionary aspiration, the development achievements illuminate the path forward, and the wonderful encounters with Chinese youth have further convinced me that the bright future of China and Vietnam will surely be jointly created by our generation of young people."
