Local Customs officials announced this month the implementation in Xiamen of online declarations for foreign nationals. Foreign nationals visiting China must complete entry information online in advance through the National Immigration Administration's official website, via the government service platform, using the Immigration 12367 app, via WeChat/Alipay mini-programs or by scanning entry card QR codes with a smartphone.
International arrivals previously lined up to complete paper forms. Under the new system, travelers fill out the entry information in advance and proceed directly to border inspection counters upon arrival.
Customs officials at Xiamen's airport have established assistance zones for travelers without smart devices or facing operational challenges. Multilingual officers proficient in 12 languages provide real-time guidance for specific demographics requiring assistance with online declarations.
