Chengdu Tianfu International Airport recently officially implemented new policies for domestic-to-international transit flights. The new policies, aimed at improving the travel experience for transit passengers, allow passengers who have completed all check-in procedures and direct baggage check-in procedures for the whole journey at the departure airport, upon arrival at the domestic departure transit holding area of the airport, to go directly to the international departure area via the dedicated channel without the need to collect their checked baggage or undergo another security check. Additionally, a transit passenger waiting area has been set up for temporary rest and convenience to confirm the information of the checked baggage.
Passengers of connecting flight transfer do not need to leave the domestic departure transit holding area. Instead, they can follow the signs indicating “Transit” “Transit without Checked Baggage” and “Gates 20-26, 101-118” in sequence to proceed to the international departure area. Points for health quarantine, customs inspection of carry-on baggage and exit border inspection are set up along the way. Passengers need to complete the required procedures before heading to their corresponding boarding gate.Passengers of non-connecting flight transfer need to follow the signs indicating "Arrivals" and "Baggage Claim" to collect their checked baggage at the domestic baggage claim hall, and then exit through B1 or B2 and enter the hall for domestic arrivals. Signs indicating "International and Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan Departures" will direct them to proceed to Terminal 1 (T1) for check-in procedures. After that, they will pass through pre-security check, exit health quarantine, combined exit customs-security check, and exit border inspection in sequence before heading to the corresponding boarding gate for the next flight.
