Chengdu

Tourist destinations with distinctive Chinese cultural elements attract a growing number of visitors as traditional Chinese cultural styles and fashions have been gaining popularity in Chengdu and other parts of the country in recent years.

As the only memorial temple in China that honors both the emperor and his ministers, the museum boasts a strong atmosphere of the Three Kingdoms Culture, a collection of valuable relics and various photogenic constructions, including the popular long crimson walls flanked by lush green bamboo.

Located in Shuangliu District in southern Chengdu, the museum features architecture inspired by the style of the Han dynasty (202 BC—220 AD), the dominate architectural style across the years of ancient China, with distinctive local styles of Sichuan blended into its design. Visitors can take pictures of themselves dressed in hanfu (costumes for Han people in ancient times) against the grand, ancient-style constructions, creating an unforgettable experience during their visit to the museum.

The main attraction at the ancient town in eastern Chengdu is the Boke Building, a architectural landmark that blends the Hakka cultural elements with the traditional style of Western Sichuan, making itself a perfect background for varied photo styles, including modern Chinese style, ancient cultural style, floral hairpin tradition style and so on.

As night falls, the banks of Jinjiang River at Dongmen Wharf comes to life with dazzling lights, their reflections shimmering on the river like a moving painting. The magnificent Tang-style Architecture blends seamlessly with surroundings, while the colorful lanterns create the perfect illumination.

Renowned as the unique title of “the only Town of Museums in China”, Anren ancient town in Dayi County in western Chengdu has a large number of well-preserved constructions of the period of the Republic of China. The site provides an agreeable photographing environment, and a congruous backdrop for visitors taking picture in Hanfu.

With a large number of replicas of the constructions in old Chengdu, such as manors, schools and the post office, the scenic spot is an ideal site for taking pictures of visitors dressed in classic costumes, especially for women in cheongsam.
