The 114th China Food & Drinks Fair (CFDF) was held in Chengdu from March 26 to 28. Covering an exhibition area of 325,000 square meters, the fair brought together 6,615 exhibitors across over 40 countries and regions. While Chengdu expanded opportunities for international exchanges and cooperation through the platform of the CFDF, its thriving consumer market provided an ideal stage for overseas exhibitors.

Let us follow our camera and see the CFDF through the eyes of international friends.
“Powerful Center for Distribution”
“Chengdu stands as a destination for global foods, as well as a powerful center for distribution that impacts southwestern China, the rest of the country, and even Southeast Asia. It serves as an important platform for promoting Chinese and international food and culture,” Cristian Davis, Consul General of Chile in Chengdu, shared.

Aron Mir Haschemi, Consul General of Germany in Chengdu, stated, “Over the three years that I have been in Chengdu, I have seen more and more Germen manufacturers coming and presenting their products.”
“The fair is a wonderful opportunity to see different products from different countries,” Cándido Creis Estrada, Consul General of Spain in Chengdu, commented.
“Closer Cooperation in the Future”
As one of Chengdu’s most active friendship cities, Daegu, the ROK debuted at the CFDF with its local enterprises. Jeong Jaemyung, Chief Representative of Chengdu Office of Daegu Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the ROK, expressed his anticipation of closer cooperation between Daegu and Chengdu.

Since the establishment of friendship city relations between Chengdu and Montpellier, France in 1981, both cities have consistently expanded their cooperation and strengthened the foundation of their friendship. Guillaume Delvallée, Consul General of France in Chengdu, said, “Long-term friendship is key to sustained cooperation, which enables enterprises and institutions in both cities to find truly reliable partners.”
“An Important Fair”
“I have come for 10 years now,” Canadian exhibitor Richard Slingerland said. “The China Food & Drinks Fair in Chengdu is an important fair, where we meet new customers and reconnect with old friends.” In his view, Chengdu’s market is a clear trendsetter, as “consumers here are interested in new products and are more willing to try merchandise from other countries”.
