A group of robots made by Chengdu companies will team up with competitors from around the world, who are at the final stage of preparation for TWG 2025 Chengdu , to take the roles such as cheerleaders and service assistants during the event, which is to be held during August 7-17.
Among the robot are more than 10 types of service robots from Chengdu EvenTec Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. They will be employed to perform functions of indoor and outdoor delivery, retail, patrol, and so on in TWG Village , including six indoor delivery robots to handle vertical transportation within buildings, six retail robots to provide on-demand shopping services, two indoor-outdoor integrated delivery robots to support cross-building logistics and one robot to patrol 24/7 to ensure security.
The retail robot of “Street Vendors”, which made a stir at the World Science Fiction Convention and International Horticultural Exposition previously held in Chengdu, will stage the most eye-catching presence during TWG 2025 Chengdu. The robots can roam proactively in the open space, using voice recognition and screen-based interaction to locate and approach potential customers. Each carrying up to 60 types of goods, the robots allow users to select products via a touchscreen and complete payment by scanning a QR code before the robots dispense the purchases immediately. Notably, the robots are now equipped with an upgraded bilingual interface in both Chinese and English to meet the needs of international guests attending TWG 2025 Chengdu .
“Tangba”, a bipedal humanoid robot developed by Chengdu Xingjin Humanoid Robot Technology Co., Ltd, will be another sight during TWG 2025 Chengdu. Its name “Tangba” comes from a historic street in Chengdu’s Jinjiang District, a place where the charm of old Chengdu meets youthful energy and modern trends.
Standing about 1 meter tall and weighing around 30 kilograms, Tangba is the world’s first bipedal robot specially designed for the purpose to promote cultural tourism, commerce, and sports. It can not only perform complex group dances with the world’s most flexible robotic “neck,” but also win hearts with expressive “head tilts” and emoji-like facial expressions. Tangba will take the stage as part of a dynamic robot cheerleading squad, performing well-choreographed routines in sync with human performers at TWG 2025 Chengdu.
