Over 4,000 First Stores Open in Chengdu, More on the Horizon

The "Debut Chengdu 2025" event has officially commenced, ushering in a vibrant season for the city's debut economy. Over the next two months, Chengdu is set to welcome more than 20 flagship stores from renowned domestic and international brands. 

The debut economy represents a burgeoning sector in the consumer market, and Chengdu's dynamic consumer vitality is prominently showcased through this trend. According to data from China Business Data, since 2019, Chengdu has seen the opening of over 4,000 first stores from both domestic and international brands, maintaining positive growth for six consecutive years. In 2024 alone, the city introduced more than 820 first stores, marking a six-year high.

This year, prominent brands such as Tiffany, Jordan WOF, and JD MALL have chosen Chengdu for their flagship store debuts. From April to May, the city's debut economy will continue to flourish. Notably, the "Space Tales Museum - Stellar Echoes"， a global exhibition of space artifacts, will hold its inaugural exhibition here. Additionally, the "Panda & Trendy Brands" themed bus will make its first appearance. Other upcoming openings include On Running's first flagship store in China, Peak Performance's boutique shop, and Uniqlo's first city flagship store in Chengdu. 

As various brands actively expand their market presence, Chengdu has emerged as a pivotal city in China's debut economy. 

At the launching ceremony of Debut Chengdu 2025, the city unveiled the first batch of 33 venues designated for debut economy activities. These venues encompass areas such as the Chunxi Road CBD, Jiaozi Park business district, Rongbei Traffic Hub business district, Kuanzhai Alley, Wenshufang, MixCity, as well as various plazas, exhibition and convention centers, commercial spaces, performing arts venues, and park areas.

Throughout the event period, major business districts, shopping centers, and specialized markets across Chengdu are hosting numerous brand debut activities, spanning sectors including automobiles, electronics, home goods, and fashion apparel.
