On the morning of April 12, the highly anticipated “2025 Chengdu Europe Culture Season” will be held at Chengdu Eastern Suburb Memory, marking the beginning of the annual Chengdu-Europe cultural celebration, eagerly awaited by Chengdu residents, especially art enthusiasts.

As an epitome of the deepening exchanges and cooperation between Chengdu and Europe, “Chengdu Europe Culture Season”, jointly launched by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Chengdu Municipality, embassies and consulates of European countries in China, and European friendship cities, has successfully hosted eight editions since its inception in 2017. It has introduced over a hundred high-quality cultural and artistic events in close connection with the people, establishing a bridge of friendship that fosters close bonds between people and mutual learning of cultures between Chengdu and Europe.
As the ninth edition is approaching, what highlights and attractions can be expected from this year’s “Chengdu Europe Culture Season”?
2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the European Union (EU). This year, the EU Delegation to China has been invited as the guest of honor to co-host the opening ceremony of “2025 Chengdu Europe Culture Season” and the “European Culture Street” event. 2025 European Culture Street, themed “All Imaginable Ways of Dialogue”, will integrate art, music, cuisine, and interactive experiences to create an immersive cultural carnival, allowing Chengdu residents to experience European culture in their community.

In addition to the opening ceremony, this year’s event will further broaden the themes of Chengdu-Europe exchanges, provide a wider array of activities, and enhance participant experiences. Collaborating with embassies and consulates of Ireland, Austria, Germany, France, Finland, the Netherlands, Spain, Greece, Hungary, Italy, the United Kingdom, and others, the event will feature art exhibitions, concerts, theater performances, film weeks, thematic exchanges, and various other enriching cultural activities in Chengdu. While deepening mutual understanding and cultural exchanges between Chengdu and Europe, these activities aim to foster amicable relations and cultural connections between China and Europe.
